Active Fender

Project description

Zoex Power’s Active Fender wave energy concept is an innovative clean energy system for attaching to marine platforms, vessels and other marine structures.

Sealand were asked to develop a Project Execution Plan to take the Wave Energy Convertor from Design Concept through to full scale FEED, supporting Zoex to secure funding and attract investors.

Sealand identified a field trial location, developed the temporary balance mooring system design and WEC connection detail to the host structure

In addition, Zoex required an animation visualisation of the active fender in order to promote and highlight the application.

Our scope

Sealand developed a succinct 3D animation using STP files and components to show the Active Fender in use in various settings and locations, fully highlighting the capabilities and potential usages, including the function of the devices in operational mode, transportation mode and storm protection mode.

This animation was further supplemented with music and voiceover to help showcase the capabilities for use within industry, identifying the various offshore applications which it may be suitable for, including barge use, offshore wind, aquaculture, breakwaters or as a standalone application.
