Our Sealand Projects Ltd Aberdeen team had a fantastic afternoon yesterday carrying out our very own beach clean.
Pleasantly there wasn’t as much waste as expected, however, we still managed to uplift around 35kg, this mainly consisted of glass bottles, face masks, food packaging & general litter.
Despite the famous Scottish weather we were able to dodge the rain and end our Thursday with a few hours in the sunshine.
Beach littering has a huge impact on our marine ecosystem & even picking up a few plastic bottles during a beach clean will keep millions of microplastic out of the ocean. It’s much easier to collect waste on land, than once it gets into the ocean. We know this first hand from our work with the The Ocean Cleanup.
A huge well done to the team for helping make our local beach a cleaner, safer place.
