Organisations who set a science-based target of meeting Net Zero are aligning their goals with the Paris Agreement. The Paris Agreement was adopted by 196 nations in 2015 with the commitment to limit global warming well below 2 degrees above pre-industrial levels, with the aim of limiting the increase to 1.5 degrees.
A temperature change of 1.5 degrees may sound small, however, the world’s temperature is already at 1.2 degrees above pre-industrial levels and rate of occurrence and severity of environmental disasters has dramatically increased in the last 5-10 years.
Research has alarmingly suggested that the world is likely to reach a 1.5 degree increase by 2027, leading to world experiencing far greater environmental disasters. The latest IPCC report screams about adaptation and vulnerability and there is no more time to lose.
Net Zero and sustainability is ‘the’ hot topic in every Organisation and Event now. Everyone acknowledges that they should start their journey to Net zero, but how and where to start from can be a daunting.
We at Sealand Projects Ltd, can help Organisations develop a pathway to Net zero by first measuring their carbon footprint, with our in-house software, then carry out a carbon reduction planning exercise to identify the best solutions for the business. By adopting this process, businesses will have the confidence that they will take their business into the future, more sustainably and playing their part in limiting their organisation’s climate impact.
